At just 13 years old, Martina Meola is considered one of the most remarkable piano talents of her generation. The young Italian pianist has already received numerous awards at international competitions. In 2024, she won the International Piano Competition ‘Città di Minerbio’, receiving the First Prize as well as the Liszt Prize and the EMCY Special Prize. In March 2025, she won the Jeune Chopin Competition, whose jury was chaired by Martha Argerich.
This summer, Martina Meola also attracted international attention when she stepped in at short notice for Khatia Buniatishvili at the renowned Festival International de Piano de La Roque d’Anthéron, where she enjoyed an exceptional success in front of an audience of around 2,000. She now makes her debut at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, presenting a piano recital at Saanen Church featuring works by Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt.
Martina Meola replaces Daniil Trifonov for the concert on 24 August, after he was forced to cancel his appearance due to injury. As his recovery requires a longer break from performing, he has also had to cancel his other concerts scheduled during this period. Daniil Trifonov sincerely thanks the public for their understanding and support during his recovery.
The originally announced concert with Daniil Trifonov and Sergei Dogadin, as well as the previously scheduled programme, will therefore not take place.
