La Bohème
Opera
Friday, 21. August 2026
7:30 p.m., Gstaad Festival Tent
Over the past few years, it has become a cherished tradition of our Festival: a concert performance of an opera, brought to life by a stellar cast and our “in-house” orchestra – the very ensemble that, two days after, carries the blazing spirit of grand opera drama onto the prestigious stage of the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. For this summer’s production of Puccini’s La bohème, the Festival is especially fortunate to have secured the most sought-after tenor in today’s opera world for the role of Rodolfo: the French-Swiss star Benjamin Bernheim, trained by Gary Magby at the Haute école de musique de Lausanne and now celebrated on the world’s leading stages. At his side are the captivating Carolina López Moreno, whose roots span Bolivia and Albania, and the French-American soprano Sandra Hamaoui – with whom Bernheim sealed his bond for life last summer in the south of France.
