You make up one of the most creative artist duos worldwide: What is your musical “elixir of life”, where do you find your source of inspiration for being so highly successful and innovative for that many years now?

KL: Our “elixir of life” is the music itself … the one we both love and play. It has always been part of our lives. Every new project – be it “Electric Fields” with Barbara Hannigan, the “Dream House Quartet” with Bryce Dessner and David Chalmin or the Glass/Cocteau trilogy with Cyril Teste – brings so much new energy, because each of these encounters enriches us again, musically as well as spiritually.

Mozart will always be Mozart: What is your very personal connection to his music?

KL: It’s true, Mozart’s compositions are always a miracle, true masterpieces. We have just finished a tour with Il Giardino Armonico, Giovanni Antonini and Kristian Bezuidenhout on Stein and Walter pianofortes – in other words, instruments from the time of Mozart. And it is precisely these Steinways that we will finally see again in Gstaad!

What are your impressions from your first collaboration with Jaap van Zweden in New York?

KL: Actually, we’ve known him for years! When he was in Antwerp and we had just done a tour with the Poulenc Concerto all the way through Belgium, we had asked him straight away if we could play again under his direction. We are really looking forward seeing him this summer!
